Obituary for Jacob Peter Krueger

Jacob Peter Krueger
KRUEGER: Jacob Peter, age 92 years, of Brandon, formerly of Carnegie District, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Jake was born March 14, 1927 near Oakville, Manitoba to John and Agnes Krueger. He was the oldest of four siblings with two brothers and a sister. Jake met his wife Katherine (Kaye) Martens at their church in Griswold, Manitoba and they married August 4, 1951. They farmed at Carnegie where they raised their family of three sons. As spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren joined the family, each one was loved equally. He was an inspiration to everyone. Jake had a strong faith and his relationship with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, was most important to him. He was a humble leader who served others in many ways – involved in church leadership almost all his life, a member of the local Manitoba Pool Elevator Board, helped start the local chapter of the Canadian Food Grains Bank to help feed the hungry, volunteered many sleepless nights on the Youth For Christ crisis phone line encouraging callers of the value of life, reupholstered hundreds of chairs for the New To You store for charity. He developed many relationships with people who needed support and encouragement. Jake’s strong work ethic continued after his retirement. He enjoyed farming for almost 80 years and was still driving tractors this past fall. Jake will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kaye; sons Don (Ann), Bob (Elsie), Ed (Carolyn); grandchildren Jaime (Troy), Al (Naomi), Alissa (Dustin), Andrew (Naomi), Gwendolyn, Diane (Chris); great grandchildren Sam, Zach, Cohen, Natalie, Nora, Bohdan, Ethan, Maxwell; sister Marianne (Ron) Doerr, and sisters in law Anne Krueger, Margaret Krueger and Shirley Martens. A celebration of Jake’s life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, 635 McDiarmid Drive, Brandon. A private family interment will take place prior to the service.
