Vic White was the last BSM who ever called me to attention as a Gunner, and the first with whom I ever worked as a commissioned officer. To describe him as a "character" would not do him justice, he was that cubed and squared again. Men followed him naturally, and those over whom he had no command followed him out of curiosity, he was just that fascinating. I loved the man and am grateful for what I learned from him. Other Gunners may close with "UBIQUE," but I will close with "UNIQUE," for that was what he was.
