I met Truus when I started working at Betty's House of Fabrics. My love of sewing led to my love for Truus. She taught me so much and I specifically remember a pink brocade gown she was making for her and John's 25th wedding anniversary. It was as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside. Just as she was! Distance never got in the way, whenever I was in Brandon we picked up right where we left off. I found her final resting place last fall and I will continue to visit my dear friend whenever I'm back, my promise to her.
