CHALMERS: Reta Ruth passed away at Fairview Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 surrounded by family. Reta was born on March 26, 1931 to Doug and Elizabeth Robins of Rivers, Manitoba. Reta was a strong and independent person who was not only a homemaker; she worked at Patmore’s as well as Eaton’s for many years. In July 1953 she married Al Chalmers and together they raised 3 children in Brandon. Reta was a very organized person who was willing to help anyone. Reta loved quilting, puzzles, reading, knitting and the Toronto Blue Jays. Although she loved all sports, they were her favorite. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 66 years Al, sons Ian (Cindy) and Rick (Kim), daughter Wendy (Wayne) Marks, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will cherish Reta’s memory privately. Donations in memory of Reta may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
