Obituary for Alexandra Noelle Lafontaine

LAFONTAINE: Alexandra “Alex” Noelle, age 25 years, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019. Alex was born on November 14, 1993 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Brandon in 2001, residing there until her passing. She graduated from Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School in 2011 where she was the Manitoba Gold and Canadian Bronze Medalist in Skills Competition for Architecture, giving her the opportunity to design a home located in Brandon. Alex worked at Sobeys for 8 years, spending the last 3 years as the Seafood Manager. She loved her job so much and received numerous accolades for the outstanding work she did. Alex’s strong sense of community led her to spend time volunteering at the Samaritan House giving back to her community. She loved the outdoors and spent countless hours hiking, biking, skiing with her go pro, camping and star gazing. She was also an urban artist and loved her cats. Alex was compassionate and caring with an infectious laugh and quirky sense of humor. She will be lovingly remembered by her father Ted, mother Debra, brother Ethan, grandparents Gerry and Joyce Lafontaine, grandfather Richard Wagner, Auntie Jo and Uncle Bill Hicock, aunts Karin and Niki, uncles Rich and Ryan and their families, as well as numerous cousins and extended family. Alex was predeceased by her grandmother Carol Wagner and uncle Dan Lafontaine. Prayers will be said at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 327 – 4th Street, Brandon on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. John Okosun presiding. A reception will follow in the St. Augustine’s Parish Square. Donations in memory of Alex may be made to Samaritan House Ministries Inc., 820 Pacific Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 0J1.
