Nora, age 92 years, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born October 30, 1926 in Brandon, Nora grew up in the north end, attended David Livingston School until grade 8 and then worked at Brandon Woolen Mills until she met her husband-to-be John. They began a family together and Nora stayed home to care for their young family. Together they enjoyed their cottage at Sandy Lake and as the children grew, she returned to the workforce cleaning for the Brandon School Division, a job in which she took great pride. Nora will be lovingly remembered by her son Martin (Margaret) and granddaughter Megan; daughter Karen (Wayne) Peterson and grandchildren Curtis (Crystal) and Chelsee; granddaughter Tracey Linski; sister Pat Kowalik and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, son Eugene, parents Peter and Helen Pedkepny and sisters Jean (Jay), Clara, Victoria and Irene. A private graveside service was held at Brandon Cemetery. The Rev. Jonathan Hoskin officiated. Donations in memory of Nora may be made to Canadian Cancer Society – Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
