Ethel Shepherd
Ethel Jeanette Shepherd. Born January 6, 1939 in Dauphin and passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. She was raised on the family farm near Asheville, Manitoba with brothers George and Bill. She received her X-ray Technician training and graduated in Brandon. Ethel worked for many years starting at Brandon General Hospital and then moving to Brandon Clinic. She completed her career after many years providing x-ray services at the Clement Block Lab & X-ray. She organized and provided many family meals not only to her immediate family but also to extended family and friends. She always ensured our door was always open to any of Ken’s and Sharon’s friends and particularly allowing any friends to stay at the cabin at Clear Lake. She is survived by her husband Bob, son Ken and his family; Laurie and daughters Riley and Rayna and daughter Sharon and her family; Dan and sons Blake (Aly) and Kirk. Her family is proud of her valiant fight against cancer allowing her family to spend much more time with her than had been predicted. The Celebration of Ethel's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, June 6, 2019. A special family celebration will be in the fall at her family cottage. Family prefers demonstrations of sympathy be donations in her memory to the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, c/o BRHC Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3.
