Obituary for Rosemarie Margret Blair (Rose)

Rosemarie Margret Blair (Rose)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosemarie Margret Blair (nee Rose) on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. Rosemarie was a military brat that traveled all over Canada in her youth as well as a posting in Germany. She ended her schooling at PEHS in Shilo where she met the love of her life Steve Blair. She worked at the Base Training Library for her entire career in CFB Shilo where she touched the lives of so many of the people who came across her desk. After retirement, she and Steve spent winters in Arizona where she continued to make friends wherever she went. After her first diagnosis of breast cancer, Rosemarie joined the “Waves of Hope” dragon boat racing team to embrace a group of women going through the same ordeal and find comfort in their combined strength. Her kids were her whole world, which got her involved in Girl Guides of Canada as a leader at first and then as district commissioner. She was an avid curler who enjoyed doing bonspiels whenever they came around as well as a concert fanatic who could always be found in the front row, center stage dancing, singing and rockin’ her heart out. Rosemarie had a kind heart of gold and a fighting spirit that inspired and awed those around her. She will be missed dearly by any that were blessed to get to know her. She is survived by her husband Steve Blair, their two children Jennifer Blair and Kevin (Lauren) Blair and their granddaughter, her pride and joy, Hailey Blair. She is also survived by her father William Rose and her siblings William Rose and Peggy Angus. She will also dearly be missed by so many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother Doreen Rose (nee Griffith). The Funeral Service for Rosemarie will take place at Our Lady of Shilo Chapel, CFB Shilo, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. with Captain Eliza Shanahan officiating. A reception will follow at the Shilo Service Club, Building L25, CFB Shilo. Donations in Rosemarie's memory may be made to Helping Hands Centre of Brandon, 111 7th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 3S5.
