Condolence: Our hearts are broken and our tears flow hearing the loss of Uncle Steve! Even though our families were quite distant in relationships, we still have a few but very fond memories of times spent together and celebrating with each other! Your family has always been closely knit and this is a reflection of what Uncle Steve and Auntie Joanne taught you all...FAMILY! Uncle Steve has left a legacy which can never be erased and will forever live on in the lives he blessed while here! Auntie Joanne, be strong, celebrate and remember the life you shared with Uncle Steve for so long! To all of my cousins, their wives and husbands and their kids, Maxine and I embrace you across the miles with hugs and kisses and mourn along with you all! May you find strength and peace in knowing God is celebrating the eternal life Uncle Steve has now started with Him in heaven.....He rejoices in welcoming him home! With much love and prayer, Wayne & Maxine Gacek

Condolence From: Marlow Kirton
Condolence: Our heartfelt condoleances to all. I only got to know Steve because of the skateboard plaza project and I'm so very glad I did. There are few people that stand head and shoulders above the rest. Steve falls into that category. Opinionated and funny is a terrific combination. He was tenacious when it came to project work and every project he was involved in was better for it. This is a loss for our community. I only hope that the many people he touched will realize one man can make a difference. My thoughts will be with you on the 23rd. Regrettably, I am out of the country. Marlow Kirton

Condolence: So sorry for your loss ! May the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you Joan and all the family. Steve was a great friend, even if we didn't see each other often. Great memories of our times together in Morden, at Hanya's after the theater or Christmas eve parties and midnight mass at your church. More recently our visits at Husky, when you came for a meal or coffee. From one Santa to another we'll see you on the other side with children gathered around us. God Bless!

Condolence: Thinking of you Steve. I met Steve when he started his career with Ducks Unlimited...on the ice at a DUC hockey tournament in the early 90’s. Who would have known that this would have started a lifelong friendship. Was it that we were both twins, or was it our love for sports, or the outdoors and wildlife, I don’t know. Perhaps it was simply everything about Steve. I am eternally grateful for his presence in my life. May you rest in peace my friend.

Condolence: Our thoughts are with you Joanne and family. I met Steve in 1981 when he sold me a house in Morden , more than I wanted , but turned just great. We connected because of background and as we had lived in many of the same places. After that it was always good times, golf games and DUL banquets. Good conversation a good laugh and a good drink. A man to call friend and good memories. RIP
