David Neil Inkster
Surrounded by his family, David “Neil” Inkster of Nesbitt, Manitoba died at his home, on the family farm on Friday, December 14, 2018. Neil was born in Brandon, Manitoba on July 28, 1954. Neil was the second son of Susan and David Inkster. Neil grew up on the family farm at Nesbitt with his brother Bill (Cathie). In 1970, Neil and Faye met and formed a friendship and love that will endure forever. They were married on October 12, 1974. Neil worked at many different jobs during his lifetime. He was a grader operator, worked in construction and at a lumber store, and was a school bus driver and farmer. For the last 21 years he ran a little store/coffee shop and was the postmaster in Nesbitt. Neil was a kind and generous man with a charming wit and mischievous sense of humour. He valued friendship and family greatly. As postmaster he was committed to serving his community and spent many extra hours sorting mail early for the farmers and waiting at the end of the day for customers to pick up their parcels. Neil loved music. He played the accordion and serenaded Faye on their first date. He had a large collection of music from all different genres. Neil had many interests throughout his life. He played baseball, loved to water ski and go camping, and he dabbled in carpentry. When he was younger he loved sharing his music collection by deejaying at community dances in the Nesbitt Hall.
