Obituary for Doris Anne Hayden

Doris Anne Hayden
Doris Anne Hayden (Murray) passed away peacefully at Valleyview Care Centre on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 97 years. Doris will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Murray, Bonny (Neil) and Glen (Judy) and daughter-in-law Terry; grandchildren Jamie (Julie), Alix, (Devin) Craig, Dan, Alison (Nick), Morgan (Chris), Tanner and Shelby (Scott); great-grandchildren Connor, Elisabeth, Jack, Bodhi, Teagan and Josie; her sister Betty McSorley, sisters-in-law Reta and Renee Murray and Joy (Ken) Babb; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris was predeceased by her husband John, sons Lynn and Brian and her brothers Donald, Bobby, Keith, Glen and Ivan. Mom was born on the family farm in the Lyleton area and attended school at Lyleton and Melita. After graduating from Normal School she taught in various small communities in southern Manitoba. Dad’s job as a CPR station agent took them to towns and villages in Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and five children kept Mom busy at home for a number of years before resuming her career. Dode loved to laugh, to joke, golf, curl, sing, play cards, watch sports and spend as much time with her family as possible. Mom and Dad had many great years at their cabin at Clear Lake that they shared so generously with family and their lifelong friends. We will forever miss the bright light and the BOSS that was our Dode. We hope and pray she has been reunited with her Loves, has no more confusion and fear, no more pain and discomfort. The family would like to extend their thanks and deepest gratitude to the staff at Victoria Landing and to the Valleyview Care Centre for their exceptional and compassionate care, and for the kindness, good humour (!), dignity and love she enjoyed. They were truly wonderful and such credit to their professions. A service will take place with interment at the Lyleton Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Lyleton United Church Memorial Fund, c/o Penny Clark, Box 43, Lyleton, MB R0M 1G0.
