Obituary for W. Joan Drummond

W. Joan Drummond
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joan Drummond, (nee Darvill) at the age of 84 years. Mom passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre with her children by her side. She was born in Brandon on November 12, 1933, to Bessie and George Darvill; she was one of seven children. In June 1953, Mom married her soul mate Murray Drummond and together had two children: David (Bev) Drummond and Darlene (Richard) Shoemaker. From these unions there are three grandchildren: Dustin (Kyla) Shoemaker, Christopher (Allison) Drummond and Breanne (Jon) Pawluk and five, soon to be six, grandchildren: Alexandria, Baylee, Tegan Shoemaker, Charlie Drummond +1, and Bronson Pawluk. Mom is survived by one sister Marilyn Dupuis and sisters-in-law Viola Quinn, Bev Campbell and Linda Zak along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Murray, brothers Len, Jim and Fred Darvill and sisters Isobel Davis and Beryl Smith. Mom had a very full life and felt very blessed to have her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Visser and Dr. Turabian for all they did for Mom along with all of the staff from 400-500 in the Hospital and A2 and A3 in the Assiniboine Centre. The Funeral Service will take place at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Monday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. with Lydia Glawson officiating. Following the interment at the Brandon Cemetery, a reception will take place at Memories Chapel.
