Obituary for Gail Georgina-Mae Nanton

Gail Georgina-Mae Nanton
Nanton, Gail Georgina-Mae (nee Kenny)
Gail was born June 15, 1934 in Kenora, Ontario and passed away October 22, 2017 in Brandon, Manitoba. Following the loss of her parents, Jim and Peggy, in 1942, Gail was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Bessie and Gordon Styles. In 1967, she moved to Winnipeg where she was employed by the University of Manitoba in the department of Agriculture for 27 years, working her way up to be Assistant to the Dean. Gail was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In 2006, she moved to Brandon to be close to family. Gail loved all the family gatherings, one special highlight in her life was our family trip to Florida in 2014. She got to attend a pro Golf Tournament and see “Tiger Woods”. Gail will be remembered for her great sense of humour and her love of a good joke. She was known to laugh for hours at a certain joke. Gail leaves to mourn her daughter Heather (Rob) Ryan of Brandon, Manitoba, sons: Ken (Vilma) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Gary (Cathy) of Kenora, Ontario; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gus in 1997. Cremation has taken place. The family will cherish Gail's memory in a private interment at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Gail may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
